What a day

I had tons of errands to run today, despite the snow flurries (which is crazy because two days ago it was sunny and 70 degrees).  Since I already had to go to the bank to deposit some checks, return something at Target, and return something at JCPennys, I went ahead and shopped at Target and then went next door to ALDIs.  Then on the way home I stopped by Safeway to spend my $2.00 catalina.  I know it's crazy, but I have a lot of fun things planned for this week and didn't want to be stuck shopping, not to mention I am kid free today.  Here's what I got today:

ALDIs:
4 bags Doritos (for my sister, to repay her for my lunch she bought today) - $4.76
gallon milk - $3.19
5 lbs potatoes - $2.89
Total - $10.84
Using Walmart prices, it would have cost - $15.50
I saved - $4.66

Target:
2 UP2U gum - $1.29
 - used 2 $1.00 manufacturer's coupons
 - used 2 $0.55 Target coupons (adjusted to $0.29)
makes them FREE

Target brand 100 pk snack size bags - $2.49
 - used $0.50 Target coupon
makes them $1.99

Kara's yogurt drinks - on sale for $2.00
 - used $1.00 off 2 Target coupon
makes them $1.50 each

2 half gallons Kara's chocolate milk
2 Honey Bunches of Oats for Michael
 - used 2 $2.00 off milk and cereal coupons
makes the 4 $7.66, or $1.92 each

Sprite toy for Kara for Easter - $14.89
 - on sale for 4.46

Total, plus tax - $37.09
Sales & coupons & 5% off for using Target card -  $20.35
I paid - $16.74
I saved 55%

THEN I got a $0.55 coupon for Kara's milk, AND $20 towards something at Shutterfly.  SWEET!!!  I'm thinking I'm going to use it for a Mother's day gift.....

Safeway:
2 pkgs Keebler Fudge cookies - $8.38
 - used Safeway coupon 30% off
 - used $0.55 off 2 coupon (which doubled)
 - used $2.00 catalina from last trip
I paid:  $1.42, or $0.71 each

So, for two gallons of milk, two pkgs yogurt drinks, 2 boxes cereal, 2 pkgs cookies, 5 pounds potatoes, a present for Kara, 2 pkgs gum, 100 pk snack sized bags, and 4 bags doritos:
Total - $60.97
Coupons & sales - $31.97
I paid - $29.00
I saved 52%
If I count $20 back for Shutterfly, which will pay for a Mother's day present, I spent $9.00.  Which means I saved 85%.  :-D

Combining this with my stockpile and meat in the freezer, I SHOULD be able to not shop the rest of the week.  Let's see how that goes.  ;-)
