Not feeling calm.....

Here's a video of the water pouring into our sump pump area and the sump pump not being able to empty it all the way - it's just constantly running. After 4-8 inches of rain from the hurricane last week, we can't handle this water. We've had 3-6 inches already this week and it's going to rain for 3 more days. Please pray for us.

I unplugged the sump pump for a little while to let it cool down because it was working constantly and it filled up in 4 seconds! Praise the Lord when I plugged it in it emptied down as far as you can see in the video.

Have you ever heard the song that goes
"I've got peace like a river,
I've got peace like a river,
I've got peace like a river in my soul!"

I'm feeling so much better now. I like peace like a river in my soul, but a river in my basement does not bring peace. :-)

WOW! It is just pouring in! Praying the LORD clears up the water problems soon for you!

Peace is not the problem, btw. True peace only comes through salvation. Praise the LORD, you have peace in your soul! Worry is what you actually have and I'm reminded of the verse in which the LORD tells us..."Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God." Philippians 4:6 The Greek work for "careful" in this verse is anxious. I know from personal experience it is hard to not be anxious when your whole physical being is expending energy to deal with the problem at hand. I will pray the LORD gives you the strength you need and that He STOPS the rain sooner than later! Please let us know if there is ANYTHING at all we can do to help!

BTW, singing "I've got peace like a river" certainly couldn't hurt while you are working with the river in your basement!

And I did feel worry for about an hour (while I posted this) before I remembered to pray to ask God to calm my nerves. I already prayed for the basement, but not my nerves. I spent some time seeking Him and He calmed me right down. I love how accessible God is, don't you??

AMEN and AMEN!! You would THINK that we would LEARN to go to Him first............sigh! Unfortunately, as long as we are in this sinful flesh, we will do it our way FIRST more times than not! Glad you are feeling somewhat better in your spirit now! Our God IS soooooooooo good!
