Friday, August 11
Friday we started the day with Vicky meeting us on our hotel room, where it was quiet, so we could get some practical questions answered by our finance guy. We are so grateful for him!
We drove over to the house and listened to the Wednesday night service they had for Tim at church. Vicky has the recording and has listened to it over and over - everyone in their church speaking from the heart saying how much they love both Tim and Vicky.
Then it was time to head over to the funeral home and have a private viewing, just us. We wanted to let the kids see him and explain what is happening to the little ones. Kara did NOT want to get close to him. I told her she can do whatever she wanted and didn't have to do anything she didn't want to. I stayed less than a foot away from Michael so I could be there for him. We all cried and hugged.
We stayed about 30 minutes, then headed home to eat lunch. By the time that was done, it was 2:00! We just relaxed and talked about everything and nothing until someone brought MORE food at 5:00 - fresh KFC. It's funny how we totally weren't hungry, yet we ate all of that KFC. :-)
After that it was time to head over to the fellowship hall and get the food back out again. Out of town family was arriving for dinner and we were going to visit with them.
We ended up laughing and talking and generally being incredibly loud for many hours. lol.
Hannah and Ryan were back by this point, so we left around 10:00 to bring Hannah back to the hotel with us. It's tradition. :-) We took our time with showers, and Kara and Hannah talked and giggled into the wee hours of the night.
Saturday will be the funeral at 2:00. Funeral stuff will start at 1:00, but we need to eat before that. So, we will sleep in tomorrow and head over after we take our time getting ready. All cousins are with different families so they can visit in smaller groups.
