12/7 ALDI

I LOVE ALDI's prices.  I got a ton of food, including 2.5 pounds of ground beef and 10 pounds of potatoes for less than $60.  (By the way, 10 pounds of potatoes and 2.5 pounds of ground beef alone add up to $14.19.  I don't know why people who have very tight budgets aren't shopping here.  Think how many people/kids you could feed with that!)

Here we go.

$2.29 - bottled water (I love having these on hand for car trips - a 24 pack for the price of 2 at a gas station)
$2.99 - 10 lbs russet potatoes
$0.99 - 2 lbs carrots
$1.29 - celery (I eat this with peanut butter almost every day - yum!)
$2.69 - 3 lbs gala apples (does your store sell gala apples for less than a dollar a pound?  I think not!)
$2.25 - 12 pk generic Dr. Pepper
$2.95 - half gallon organic milk
$0.89 - flour
$2.49 - vanilla ice cream

I'm still under $800 for two months!  It's going to be a long 12 days until November 19th to spend only $7.82.  ;-)  Maybe we'll go out to dinner more to save on our grocery bill.  Wait.

Just kidding!

I found a few fun things at ALDI for my kitchen, that I don't count as groceries, that were priced AMAZINGLY low.  I saw a mini muffin tin for $2.44 - I bought two.  I have one I got from Walmart for around $10, and I planned to buy more because I never make just one pan of mini muffins.  You just can't beat $2.44 each.  I also saw non stick mats (which the food network ladies use and I will never NOT use ever again - they are magical) for $4.99.  They are $25 in other stores - I found them on clearance once for $12.50, but $4.99 is so good.  I bought two of those too.  :-)

I also went to the Dollar store to stock up on disposable pans so I can bring a bunch of cookies and other baked goods to the construction guys during the Christmas season.
