Thursday, August 6

The last several weeks sure have gone by slowly!  I can't believe how much of my life has changed in the last 30 days.

So, today I watched 2 Gilmore Girls first thing in the morning while I ate breakfast and drank coffee. Yes.  Awesome.

Then it was time to get ready and get back to school.  I put my makeup on while Kara reviewed the health we already covered and did a spelling/vocabulary word.  We reviewed the circulatory system, plasma, veins, arteries, aorta, etc.  And her spelling/vocabulary word was miscellaneous.

As we were just beginning, Bert called and asked me to contact Chris.  Chris is in between Bert and the specialist crews.  Chris asked that I decide on tile size and type, so he can get a quote from the tile guys.  So, we finished school and waited for Michael to have time to take us to Burger King for lunch.  It rained a bunch today and thunderstormed all day.  Kara played in it while I watched.

After Burger King, I dropped Kara and Michael off at home and went to Lowes to decide on tile stuff.

Not sure if you can see the hardwood floor look for the floors:

I plan to put polished marble in my bathroom:

I LOVE this and plan to put it in the guest shower:

This giant slab of marble would be great for my shower seat (can you see that it's 12 x 24)?

I LOVE this beveled subway tile.  I am going to sprinkle it all over the house and make it my kitchen backsplash.

I will have a niche in all shower walls and plan to have an accent tile inside it.  I like this one with the marble:

Michael's tile will be the same size as mine, but it will probably be brown/cheaper.  He doesn't care and I can make something less expensive look fabulous.

I payed for some weirdo light bulbs for under cabinet lighting and headed out.

I went next door to ALDI and bought a cart full of stuff for $54.  I love that place.

Then I came home to this in my mailbox.  Yay!

I have been starving for a really good Bible study - I don't do well with lighter/non-in depth studies.  I need to dive way in.  I watched the first video.

Then I used my few pots/pans/etc to put together a FABULOUS dinner.  Chicken, mushrooms, onions, garlic, pasta.  It was out of this world!  And all from ALDI (meaning super cheap).  :-)

Then I cleaned it up and headed out to the new house with Kara.  Just as I was looking around, Bert drove up.  He had a few questions for me, so that was great timing.

Then I took a few pictures of what they have been up to:

Rainy, stormy day

Recessed lights on porch

More recessed lights on porch
and set up for chandelier in the middle.

Kara is stealing the show, but there is wire set up for
two lights to flank the front door.

Fan for office

Fan for guest bedroom

Guest bedroom tub is in!

Kara's tub/shower is in!

I couldn't believe it.  I just ordered those two days ago!

Rainy day means water in the house.  It's normal and
supposed to happen.  Not to mention it wasn't the first
time!

Ladders in master bedroom to prep for
beams and lighting.

First light in master bedroom.
Those ladder looking things are getting
ready for the beams.

Looking out at the rain with this cutie
Tomorrow's plan is pick another subject to review in school, meet Bert at his office to pay the worker guys, meet with Abe to answer questions, meet with Chris to answer questions, Skype with financial advisor about how to set up future mortgage, prep house for movers, who should be here Saturday (no confirmation yet, though).  I'm tired just thinking of it!  But it will be good.  :-)
