Day 7 - Forks, WA and La Push, WA

Woooooowwww.  I'm really here.  Follow along with me while I geek out.  :-)

We started our days at....

The coffee was delicious, the waffles were amazing, and this was my view:

Lol!  Rustic, and perfect!  It reminded me of when Bella talked about the restaurant she and Charlie went to after she graduated in Eclipse.  It wasn't fancy, but it was just about the only restaurant in town, and the head on the wall was perfect.

My mom and Kara were SO good to me - stopping at all the places I wanted to go, and they didn't really care about.  Christina was supposed to be there with me so I wouldn't be the only one squealing at random things.

Bella's house!  This house was on the market when Stephenie Meyer wrote Twilight.  It has yellow kitchen cabinets (that Renee supposedly painted) and a purple bedroom in the upstairs front window (which is Bella's room).

I love their Home of the Swans sign out front!  Several places in Forks played along, which was just awesome.

Here's the hospital, where Carlisle works.  The next day I took a picture of the sign at his parking place.  Today, we just drove by and took a picture of the hospital.

This is where Bella came after Edward saved her from Tyler's van hitting her and where she came when she flipped off her motorcycle with Jacob.

Charlie's car!  He first picked Bella up from the airport in this car in the very first chapter of Twilight when she moved to Forks.  It's also the car he offered for her to drive in Eclipse when hers wouldn't start because Edward dismantled it so she couldn't visit Jacob.  Ahem.  Controlling, much?

Here's Kara playing in the Cullen's yard.  :-)

The sign on the front porch was perfect.  :-)

Another sign in the window!

A view of the Cullen's porch and yard.  Great access to animals the Cullens need for their "vegetarian" diet.

My beautiful mom and Kara in the Cullen's yard.

Neat, moss covered tree in the Cullen's yard.

The Miller Tree Inn is the Cullen's house.  And I was there!!!

The Cullen's house:

This is the actual arch that Kristen Stewart and Rob Pattinson stood under in Twilight for their prom.  This was in Forks because the theme for Stephenie Meyer day one year was the prom.  :-)  They told me one year the theme was Volterra and they built a huge fountain and everyone wore red capes.

The high school!  This is where Bella first saw Edward.  Where she graduated.  Where Jacob pulled up on his motorcycle in Eclipse to pick her up when Edward was being controlling again and wouldn't let her see him.

Bella's truck in the movie.  (This truck is from the 60s and wrong, but, like many things that were wrong in Twilight, they had to stick with them for the rest of the movies for continuity.)

Bella's truck from the books.  *Perfect!*  This was Billy's truck, which Jacob single handedly repaired.  She LOVED her truck and it ran very well, even though it was very loud and couldn't go faster than 55 miles an hour.  She brought Jacob the motorcycles in this truck, and almost kissed him for the first time in this truck.

See the Bella license plate?  ;-)

La Push road.  You got it, this is the road from Forks to La Push, the native american (reservation?) down the street where Jacob lives.

The treaty line!

La Push road.  Is that gorgeous or what?

Lol!  The treaty line.

Here's the tree in Jacob's yard.

Jacob's house!  Where Bella showed up that day in New Moon with the motorcycles, which totally changed her life.  Through her sadness, Jacob became her best friend, and she fell in love with him.  Such a neat house.

Jacob's motorcycle parked out front!  Remember, Bella's was delivered to Charlie at the end of New Moon to try to get her in trouble with Charlie.

Here I am, contemplating taking it for a spin.  ;-)

Jacob's house.  :-)

First Beach!  I am not sure which is James Island though.  I am pretty sure that is where they went cliff diving though.  And definitely where Bella saw Victoria in the distance.

Moss covered rocks.  Those were so cool looking.

Here I am!

Look.  At all.  The drift wood.  One of these is Bella and Jacob's tree.  Where they first met (or met again).  Where they walked as Jacob told Bella the legend.  Where they talked when she told him she figured out he was a werewolf.  Where Jacob ran into Quill and Claire playing together picking up colorful rocks.

Kara and my mom at First Beach.  These two love all beaches - warm and cold.  And this one was cooooooold.

Bleached white because of the salt.  I wish we could have had a fire so I could watch it glow blue!

The store in La Push.  Remember, Quill lived right behind there?  Bella dropped him off there in New Moon when he was freaked out and she was looking for Jacob.

All the signs are in English and Quilleute.  So cool.

This is the path from La Push Road to Third Beach.  Just looking into those woods made me think of......every book!  They spent SO MUCH TIME in the woods.

Moss grew on everything, just like Bella said.  "Everything that's supposed to be brown is covered in squashy green stuff."  -- Twilight.

A logging truck.  A sign for Port Angeles.  A sign for Forks.  All on La Push road.  Perfect.

That day was way.  too.  cool.

Who wants to go back with me?  :-)

Me!! How fun! And how fun that the town plays along so well. I didn't realize they used so much from the town in the movie - I figured they would build sets instead. Looks like a fun trip! Was that really the Cullen's house in the movie? I thought it was further from the road and made of almost all glass?

Nope, the movies got it all wrong. The Cullen house in Forks is just like it's described in the books. I have no idea why they went crazy in Twilight and completely did nothing right. Then they had to stick with it for the rest of the movies for continuity sake. I sure wish they'd do those movies over again, and right, but I know it's asking for a lot. ;-)
