Dates

Today was a big day in the kitchen.  The countertop guy (who was so nice, by the way) came to map out the counters today.  He brought this big robotic arm that he hooked up to his computer to get all the dimensions.  So cool.  My contractor also did a ton of little things getting ready for the floor guys:  baseboards, toe kicks, moldings around the island, and he worked on the family room trouble spots we had (cat pee spots from the old owners that molded (ga-ross), and a spot on the wall that had a leak).

Also, I got solid dates for things:
  * Tomorrow the double ovens will be installed
  * Tomorrow the mudroom and powder room will be demo'ed
  * Friday and Saturday the floors will be installed
  * Wednesday (the 28th) the counters and sink and faucet will be installed
  * Thursday (the 29th) the new dishwasher will get here (the brand new one has dents in it)
  * asap after the 28th, the cooktop will be installed - then I'll have a working, usable kitchen!!
  * sometime next week the mudroom cabinets will be delivered and installed (after that the cheap counters for that room will arrive and be installed)
  * sometime next week the powder room will be updated - new toilet, new vanity, paint, etc.

Moving water lines and gas lines is super exciting, but installing appliances, cabinets, and floors is way cooler!

Things I still need to do:
  * return extra, unnecessary drawer pulls
  * pick out 15 new drawer pulls for the mudroom
  * buy kitchen faucet
  * buy new light for powder room
  * buy towel rack for powder room
  * decide what color to paint powder room

Looks like I need to go to Lowes!!

School today went really well.  We started a new unit:  Children Around the World.  Today we learned and talked about Canada.  Then, in history class we learned about the song Yankee Doodle and how it came about and I learned quite a lot about US History!!  I LOVE being a teacher!!!!!
