 Natural History Museum - Kara's wedges are on the "don't touch!" sign - oops!

 Look.  At all.  The crysalises.  So amazing.

 The bug lady came out with a cart and Kara ran up to get a front row view.  Of course she HAD to hold whatever was offered.  The lady explained what the brown dots were on it's side, and Kara finished her sentence - spiracles, it's how they breathe.  We just learned that last week - perfect!

 Then came the microscopes

 Kara read a book - this one was on whales.

 She had to tell me the whale's tongue was the weight of an elephant.  Her mind was blown.

 After the museum, we sat with our feet in the fountain in DC.  It was insanely hot and the thought of the long, hot walk to the metro, the 30 minute ride, the long walk to the car, and the long drive home made it hard for us to leave.

 We sure love the cursive app on the tablet.  Seriously.  That is the most beautiful 'h' she's ever done.  She didn't mess up the hump!  *sigh*  bliss.






 Math

 How many vertexes does a cube have?

 Science experiment explaining why God made birds with long, narrow wings instead of short, wide wings.  It's all about drag.

 Typing tutorial.  She's on 'g' and 'h.'


We also learned about Noah's Ark.  I LOVED her questions today.  Where did they get all the food?  What did they do with all the poop?  What did Noah do when he got bored?  How did Noah save the fish?

Also, we learned about planets and the solar system and what makes Earth perfect.  God is an amazing Creator.  I don't understand how anyone who knows anything about science doesn't believe!  It's exactly perfect and no other planet is even close.  Yesterday at the museum we saw a replica of the first creature to walk onto dry land.  It actually said everything (plants and animals) lived in the water.  Then one day, something walked out of the water and lived on land.  I really don't understand how that makes any sense.  But, I digress.

Kara had a little heat exhaustion yesterday, and suffered a few side effects today, but other than that we had a fantastic day.

I've heard it said that it actually takes more faith to believe in evolution that the fact that we have an amazing Creator. I totally agree!
And I was thinking about the cursive app..if you have a stylus for her to trace with, it would be mire like actual writing!

Yeah, I thought about the stylus and worried if tracing with her finger wasn't enough like actual writing. But, you read how cursive has been horrendous for us over the last year. At this point I don't care enough. This is what she likes, so this is what we're doing for now. I feel like we found a miracle. I think we'll work our way up to the stylus. :-)
