Day 3
Today started at 6am again. My sleep-in-until-9:30 girl is long gone. I think it's the new stairs - they're hardwood and while Michael tip toes to work in the morning, the hardwood stairs are louder than the carpet ones were. Oh well. It's no longer hard for us to be somewhere by 11am anymore - we are done with school, dressed, and ready by 10. :-)
So, first we did school - Bible (Genesis 1:9-13, day 3 of creation), Reading (4 chapters of Magic Puppy - we took turns reading aloud), Writing (timeline a book, cursive and print 'c'), Math (review <, >, =, missing number), and Science (zoology - made a book for our scavenger hunt later today).
Then we went to Centennial park with a friend and played on the playground (P.E. class!), had a picnic lunch, then we took our friends along with us on our scavenger hunt. We have a whole list of things our zoology textbook told us to find. Here's what we found:
Pretty good day, huh?
The heat got to us f-a-s-t and we all wilted.
After we got home, I picked up my mom for a quick trip to the grocery store where diet coke is on sale, then we went to pick up her car from the dealer.
When we got home, Kara and I were a wilted, sweaty, tired mess. Kara napped in the car, then headed out to play with the neighbor girl. They are quickly becoming great friends, which I like - she's an only child, just like Kara, but 2 years older than her. Her parents are very nice and go to our church and I trust them. Our backyards butt up against each other, so they just have to hop the fence to see each other. :-)
While she got her second wind, I started counting down the minutes until bed time beginning around 4:30. Somehow it's still only 7:15 now. I might collapse.
Tomorrow it's school in the morning and beach in the afternoon - maybe - looks like there might be storms.

bumblebee
butterfly that is mostly white
an anthill
this is where we heard the songs of birds
feather (still need to find 2 more)
lily pads
birds (other than ducks) using water

my pretty girl in front of the honeysuckles :-)
ladybug (flew away too quickly before I was able to focus correctly)
beetle of some sort
caterpillar
dragonfly
