West Coast Vacation - Day 8
Boy, I could have spent the whole week on the ocean in that cabin. It was so quiet and beautiful. Being from the east coast, we do sunrises on the ocean, not sunsets, and who wants to be up that early? I am, however, awake for every sunset and loved watching them.
After another great night's sleep where it was super quiet, we packed the car up and headed out. But first, a few more pictures of the beauty of La Push.
It is absolutely gorgeous there. I'm sad to say goodbye.
On the road, back on highway 101, we saw more AMAZING views.
What a gorgeous drive! We stopped for lunch on the way in Port Angeles, but the restaurant where we wanted to eat didn't open until dinner. Bummer! So we found a sandwich place nearby, which was nice and we were back on the road.
We checked into the hotel right near the airport so we'd be ready to go the next morning. Honestly, by this time, we had driven more than 1400 miles (here's to unlimited mileage on that rental car!) and had been going nonstop for a week, so we were tired. My cousin very generously drove all the way to our hotel to we could eat at the restaurant right there. We laughed (maybe a little too loudly) and talked and had a great time. This hotel had a pool, so Kara patiently waited for us to finish so she could get back in the pool. While my mom took her swimming, Christina and I packed up for the flight the next day.
We slept horribly as the people in the room above us walked around until 1am, then were up again walking at 5am. How do these people need to walk for hours and hours and hours at a time. Sit down!
Either way, I knew the next day I'd be home sleeping in my own bed.

Look at how long that moss is!
Ferns growing right out of the tree
