Rejoice in the Lord Always, and Again I Say Rejoice. Phil. 4:4

It has been a scary week.  Michael's dad, Tim, was having serious neurological issues.  They knew there was a bleed in his brain, but weren't sure why he was declining so rapidly.  When we found out he had a golf ball sized tumor in his brain, it all made sense.  He endured a big surgery today and everything went wonderfully.  We are all so happy and so relieved.  Of course we all were praying he would come out of this completely healed.  I'd say our prayers were answered, but our prayers are always answered, aren't they?  Whether God decides now is time to join Him in heaven or not, whether God allows the road to heaven to be difficult or easy, or whether we spend more time on this earth, God is still active.  He is in all things, commands all things, controls all things.  We are so grateful God's will in this situation matched up with our will, but if it didn't, would that make God bad?  Unfair?  Not at all.  God is always good.  Always.  He cannot be anything but good.  When I really got that, my life changed.  And God is never unfair, He is just.  He works everything for our good.  (Rom. 8:28)  In our tiny, human minds, what we think is for our good, isn't always true.  Think of a little child thinking cake for every meal is a good thing.  That little child has a loving parent to feed her fruit and vegetables to nourish her and help her grow strong and healthy.  Praise God for knowing what is best for us and giving it to us!  Even when it doesn't taste like cake.
