Safeway 6/29

Safeway is one of those stores that has INSANELY high prices I would never pay, but their sales can be really good.  I usually go there for really random things, but save a ton.  This time I went for a few good deals, and picked up some things for a party while I was there.  Here's what I got this time:

Beef Taquitos (needed for my party) - $6.99
On sale for $4.49

Makes them $3.49  :-)

(aren't blueberries insanely expensive??)

Giant block of cheese (needed for my party) - $6.99

2 bags Tyson chicken strips - the kind Michael likes - $9.49 each

Used $1.50 off 2 coupon
Makes them $4.00 each  :-)

2 boxes Tinkerbell Fruit snacks on clearance for $1.88 each
Used $1 off 2 coupon
Makes them $1.38 each

dozen eggs - $2.29
Got for free for a promotion they're doing

10 bottle Sweet Baby Ray's bbq sauce - $2.79 each
On sale for $0.99 each
Used 5 $1 off 2 coupons
Makes them $0.49 each :-)

3 boxes 12ct pop tarts - $3.69 each
On sale for $2.50
Used $1 off 3 coupon
Makes them $2.17 each
(which works out to $1.44 for a regular 8ct box)

5 12pks Diet coke for my mom - $6.29 each
On sale Buy 2 get 3 free
Makes them $2.52 each

For 27 items
Total before coupons/sales $124.16
Paid $56.44
Saved $67.72, which is 55%

Then my mom paid me $12.50 for her diet coke.

Pretty good!  I could have done better, but Safeway is getting really particular on the coupons they'll accept.  Most internet coupons aren't accepted anymore and they have issues with about half that come in the newspaper.  Sometimes I get real attitude about it too, which makes it no fun.  Just another reason I love Harris Teeter - they love coupons!!  :-)
