CVS 4/30

I had some ECBs that were expiring April 30, so I had to shop at CVS so I wouldn't lose them.  (Remember, ECBs are extra care bucks that are basically store credit.  Stuff always works out to be free at CVS because you pay for it first, then get ECBs back.)  AND I got a free $50 CVS gift card.  (If you're not using Discover card and maximizing your points, you're crazy!)  So, here we go.

I got $86.08 worth of stuff for $28.95, which is 66% savings.  But, I used my gift card, so it was all free!  :-)

Transaction #1:
2 Colgate Toothpastes - on sale for $2.99 each
got $2.49 back in ECBs for each, $4.98 total in ECBs
Used a $1 off 2 coupon AND $1 CVS coupon
Works out to be $1 moneymaker  :-)

3 Maybelline mascaras - $5.89 each
got $5 ECBs back
Used 3 $1 coupons
Works out to be $3.22 each

At the register, it looked like this:
$2.99 + $2.99 + $5.89 + $5.89 + $5.89 + tax = $24.71
After coupons = $19.71
After ECBs from last time ($10 worth) = $9.71 charged to my gift card
(Got $9.98 in ECBs for next transaction)

Transaction #2:
5 Family Sized Pantene shampoo and conditioner (for coupon customers) - on sale for $5.99 each
Used 2 B1G1 free coupons (up to $4.99)
Works out to $19.97 or $3.99 each

1 Dawn hand renewal - on sale for $0.99

8pk Bounty paper towels - FREE
(When you buy that shampoo and dawn, you get bounty free)

2 24pks Bottled water - on sale for $3.49
Used $1 off 2 coupon
Works out to be $2.99 each

At the register, it looked like this:
$5.99 + $5.99 + $5.99 + $5.99 + $5.99 + $0.99 + $3.49 + $3.49 + tax = $40.20
After coupons = $29.22
After ECBs from first transaction ($9.98 worth) = $19.24 charged to my gift card

So, I spent $28.95 for stuff that is originally priced at $86.08.  BUT, with my gift card, it's FREE, 100% savings!  :-D

we really need to look into getting a credit card and doing that.
