Day 3 - Hanging out with Friends

Today was the day we just hung out with our friends.  First thing in the morning, while it was still cool-ish, we met at the property.

We decided to walk/hike through the whole property.  There is a natural road that leads back through the property, so we walked that.  (That natural road was reinforced when a person on the construction team drove a tractor back there.  lol!  Love it!)  Since spring is when all the snakes come out, thanks to the warmth, (I'm learning so much) we didn't want to get off that path.  Since there are rattlesnakes back there (they found one right where they were clearing trees for our house), I wasn't messing around.  We also made a racket as we walked, hoping a snake would hear us coming and slither away.

I LOVE being in the woods because the shade is cool, there is a slight breeze to keep it comfortable, and there is green everywhere!

Halfway through, the kids needed a bathroom break and we had lunch.

After our property, we hung out at the playground by the lake until it was time to shower for dinner.  We were all muddy and sweaty and sunscreen-y.

We met at a mexican restaurant for dinner and it was SO GOOD.  It was super cheap too.  The kids were so good and it was a great time.

Then it was time for a camp fire.  Kara was dying for a camp fire.  So our friends went in search of firewood while I dropped Michael off at the hotel.  (He only attends about half the things we do.  I'm not interested in changing my introverted man and anyone who is going to be in our lives needs to know he won't come to things he doesn't want to.  And that's most things.  They were cool with it.)  :-)

On the way to the camp site, I had to pull over because THIS:

Then Kara played with the kids so much, she didn't even sit and enjoy the camp fire!  But the grown ups sure did.

Yes, those are roasted marshmallows
And that is how the perfect day ended!  Even the forecast was supposed to be rainy all day, but it was cloudy / partly cloudy all day.  Love it!  Thank you Lord for this great day.
