Day #5 - St. Maarten

Day #5 started with - you guessed it - bridge.  While we were playing, we had a great view of the ship pulling up to the island.  It is one island with a horizontal line right across the middle.  The north side of the island (St. Martin) is french owned and the south side of the island (St. Maarten) is dutch owned.  They're both pronounced St. Martin though.  We went to the south side.

The sun was shining brightly and the waters were turquoise.  Ah, it was so gorgeous.  One of my favorite things is watching the ship pull up to an island, and watching it sail away.  Maybe it's like the plane ride where the most exciting thing is take off and landing - I love trying to figure out the highways and malls and see where we are exactly.  Anyway, here are some pics of our first sights of St. Maarten:

The ship's glass kind of dulled the pictures, but the rich green hills, turquoise water, and rich blue sky was absolutely breathtaking!  Praise God for the beauty of His creation!

Here's Michael off the ship.  He doesn't like to pose very much, so I take them as we walk.  :-)

The colors are absolutely amazing!

Here we are in St. Maarten!

Heading back to the ship.  Look at that sky!  And the water!

Sparkling so brilliantly, it hurt my eyes even with sunglasses.  If God made this earth so beautiful, I can't wait to see heaven.

Sunset at St. Maarten.  We saw it set at dinner (this is the view from our table), then we headed out to sea over dessert.  :-)

After dinner we went to a wonderful show (singers and dancers again - they did songs from Dirty Dancing, Saturday Night Fever, Flashdance, Footloose and more - so fun!).  Then we finished the night with bridge.
