Second Half of March

It's been a while since I posted because I have been super busy.  Here are the highlights:

Tornadoes came through here.  They were way too close for comfort.  The sirens went off for an hour straight.  Not cool.

Here we are in our shelter, which is also our pantry.
Bonus points for you if you can find a kitty in this picture.
They LOVED being inside with us.

Soon after that, Michael and I went on a trip for spring break with our friends we always go on cruises with.  We went to Branson, which was smaller than you'd think.  Our purpose in going was to see our friends, eat good food at restaurants, and play cards in a great condo.  That was all wonderful and didn't depend on where we were.

All roads were empty country highways -
no interstates.  It was so nice to not have
any traffic, but we went hungry a bit
waiting for a town with fast food.

One bit of interstate - going through Memphis.
Here we are on a bridge over the Miss.
River, crossing into Arkansas.

More country roads.  Michael drove the
whole way there, bless him.

Day 1 - a giant delicious dessert must
be ordered after dinner.  Yum!

Meanwhile, back home Kara stayed with Christina and Tony.

Here she is camped out in her room at their place.

They spoiled her rotten with her favorite foods and took her to cool places.  Here she is at the Botanical Gardens in Huntsville:

Made out of legos.

Made out of legos.

Here they are at a cool park with waterfalls and caves.  I totally want to go with them when they go back!

We headed home and were excited to see familiar things.

We made it home safe and sound and hit the ground running catching up on what we missed, then my parents came into town.

Holding up signs for my mom's brother's birthday.  Oops,
I cut off the signs, we needed a retake.  But the girls look good!

Mom and dad headed home and now I'm resting from all the fun.  And now you are caught up!

Have a wonderful weekend!
