11/11 - ALDI and Amazon

Well, I went over my monthly $400 budget.  I'll just have to try to stay within $500 instead.  Or maybe I just borrow from next month?  I'm still figuring this out.

When I went shopping on Wednesday for food for this weekend with friends, I used as much as what we had, used inexpensive ingredients, and got really excited about all the great sales on foods I consider staples.  So, I stocked up feeling grateful for all the money I was saving!

*$2.49 - Butter (I HAD to get a bunch more!  It's an incredible price and I plan to use a bunch for homemade cinnamon rolls)

So the next question is, do I count the medicine I just bought in my grocery bills?  Michael takes Prevacid daily and Kara takes Claritin daily.  I just stocked up on both on a great sale on Amazon.

I bought 2 50 packs of Claritin for Kara.  She takes 2 a day, so that will last 50 days.  Usually a great price is $1 per pill, so getting a 50 pack online for less than $40 saved me more than $20 today.

Then I bought 4 42 packs of Prevacid for Michael.  He takes at least one per day, so that should last him several months.  Getting a 42 pack at the store is a standard $25 or so price.  Not too bad - sometimes coupons help lower that.  I found a deal on Amazon for $18.49 each.  That's why I bought 4.    I saved $26 - basically I got one for free.  ;-)

All with free shipping, I saved almost $50.  I spent $156.23 though.
