Sweet Home

When I left off with my story, we were heading south.  After 6 hours, we stopped at a hotel in Bristol.  This time we had side by side rooms.  The rooms weren't nearly as nice, but since we arrive around 8:00 and still needed to go eat dinner, we weren't picky.

After a dinner at Cracker Barrel right next to the hotel, we had some dessert while we watched the olympics, and then it was time for lights out.

I was up bright and early the next morning, so excited we will actually be in Alabama later that afternoon.  The traffic looked like this just about the whole way:

Then finally we saw this sign!!

We unpacked the cars and relaxed a little.  Then it was time to start running errands.  After one of Michael's favorite dinners, we went to bed very early and all slept like 11 hours.

Wednesday we picked my car up from the airport, and ran some errands.  Since it was Valentine's Day, all the ladies in my Bible study canceled, so we all went out to dinner together.

Thursday Kara had horse lessons, which we all went to, and I don't remember what else.

Friday was the day they had the final walk through on the house, then signed papers.  Yay!  Here we are celebrating with dinner on the living room floor.

Jake watched us eat and loves his new house.
Speaking of Jake, this sums up how he feels about Alabama.  He is like a new puppy - playing in water, swimming in their pool, chasing Tony in the tractor, and loving life.

Saturday the movers came.

Many hours later, we watched the truck drive away and got to work.

The kitchen is all set up, the bed is made, the suitcases are unpacked.  Next on the list:  new living room furniture and a washer and dryer.

More coming in my next post!
