Bad Tuesday

Michael came home from his big fishing trip on Saturday and spent the whole afternoon and evening playing with Kara so I could do several chores. This is after getting up in the middle of the night and driving 8 hours home. Then Sunday he had a fishing meeting which lasted all morning and part of the afternoon. On the way home he got pulled over due to a broken tail light. Then he went to the auto parts store to get a new bulb and they didn't have it.

Monday seemed pretty normal for him - lots and lots of work to makeup hours, then the weekly meeting with the new company, then dinner with my family. After they left he played with Kara for about an hour before she went to bed and he went right back to work at his desk.

Tuesday he worked lots and lots of hours and on his way out, paperwork got messed up and they took his badge away, which resulted in a police escort to his car. When he got to his car, he saw an almost flat tire. When he got home, he tried to change the tire (remember, this is after an 11 hour day) and after getting the spare off, the key nut broke and he couldn't get the flat tire off. Ugh! We filled it back up and took it right down the street to get it fixed.

If you ask me, that is a rough couple of days! I would have been crying or definitely over the edge somehow. Not Michael. He was still smiling and joking about how because he didn't have a badge, he couldn't go to work, and he got to sleep in the next morning. His glass was half full. More and more things went wrong and he kept his cool. You KNOW I am not like that. I get frustrated and upset very easily. (I will admit I think I am much better than I was years ago, but I have a long way to go!) I think Michael just has such joy and peace in the Lord that nothing really gets him down. He is still human, but his joy and peace are at such a high level that it oozes out on bad days.

I always have something to learn from my great husband!

(By the way, Wednesday he came home to a quiet house with Kara playing nicely outside and a delicious steak dinner. Today I'm making braciole - another of his favorites. His week is looking up!) :-)

He is so much like his dad! I would have been crying with you! Or throwing a temper tantrum! Or both! Michael knows about those, unfortunately! :D

I cannot imagine you throwing a temper tantrum. Maybe you only did that when you were younger? That gives me hope that I'll grow out of mine. :-)

Michael says he doesn't remember any. He told me about how you guys were mad that a neighbor would park in front of your house, but no tantrums. Good for you!!!!
